This is at the Ace Hotel in Portland, which is essentially the embodiment of Tumblr’s preferred aesthetic. Rustic, masculine, green, woodsy, chill.

All that aside, and all obligatory Portlandia and hipster (ick) comments aside, it’s a really lovely hotel, the hallways smell of Stumptown coffee, the breakfast we had was excellent — just a whole lot of really fine cheeses, fruits, breads, local jams, and charcuterie, all beautifully presented in a sunny room — and I’d like to live in one of its rooms. We had to stay there for two nights last May before we moved into our new place, and it was tough to leave.
